Congratulations to the South Hunterdon Vocal Ensemble and cast of Into the Woods who proudly represented Hunterdon County at the NJ State Teen Arts Festival.

Under the direction of Jocelyn Alam and Laura Di Staulo, students were invited to perform, participate in engaging workshops with theatre professionals and artists, and receive valuable feedback on their performances from adjudicators and peers. It was an inspiring day filled with creativity, collaboration, and growth, and our students represented South Hunterdon with incredible talent, professionalism, and heart.

We are so proud of all they accomplished and grateful for the opportunity to celebrate the arts with students from across New Jersey!

Theatre Students Perform at Elementary School

Mrs. DiStaulo and her students took a trip to the elementary school in early June. Students performed a play called Fish Tales, written and geared towards elementary school students. This provided the theatre students a unique opportunity to perform a new genre and have some fun at the end of the year. It also gave younger students a glimpse at the fun they can have as theatre students in high school.

SHRSD Named 2025 Lighthouse District

South Hunterdon Regional School District (SHRSD) has been named a 2025 Lighthouse District by the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE), earning recognition for its work to increase equity in Advanced Placement (AP) course enrollment. SHRSD is one of a select group of districts statewide honored for demonstrating measurable progress toward equitable outcomes for all students.

The NJDOE Lighthouse District Initiative recognizes New Jersey school districts that have demonstrated measurable progress in achieving equitable outcomes for all students. Lighthouse Districts serve as models for continuous improvement and are celebrated for their commitment to closing opportunity gaps and fostering inclusive learning environments. The district received this recognition award at the New Jersey Department of Education State Board of Education meeting on June 3, 2026.
