Community Classroom Visit

On Earth Day we invited Margaret and Vita from Morning Glory & Bumble Bee farm to talk to our Urban Ag & Small Farms class about how they grow fruit and nut trees regeneratively on their Lambertville farm.

We sampled their farm-fresh raspberry sorbet and a few students taste tested black walnuts. Fun fact: black walnuts are a native, food producing tree with extremely tough outer shells that require a heavy duty tool like the master nutcracker to access the food stored inside!

Juneabea was selected from a pool of students from nine local high schools who were nominated by district staff in the areas of Academics, Athletics, Civic Leadership and the Arts.

The 35th annual awards ceremony was presented by the Paul Robeson Institute for Ethics, Leadership and Social Justice at Raritan Valley Community College. Congratulations, Juney, on this amazing achievement!
