When art teacher Kady Johnson walked the halls of South Hunterdon for the first time, she was inspired by the blank canvas of a bland hallway. She quickly got to work by engaging her students in a group mural project that featured key elements that told the story of South's tight-knit community. Today, the H-Wing hallway is a bright and cheerful exhibit featuring the artistic talent of South Hunterdon students, guided by Ms. Johnson, to showcase the unique qualities that make South special.

"I think that it's important to incorporate art into education, just because it makes us problem solvers, we're creative thinkers, it broadens our whole spectrum and makes us better people overall," Ms. Johnson explained. She was recently interviewed by TV & Media students Scarlett Vavrence and Julianna Gonzalez in the latest edition of Classified! A segment showcasing the great work teachers are doing in their classrooms.

Catch the segment below, and don't forget to visit the Festival of the Arts on February 7th.

Key Club Visits Trenton Area Soup Kitchen

In celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the South Hunterdon Key Club volunteered at the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen, serving a chili lunch to over 240 guests and distributing an additional 100 to-go meals. Members contributed by preparing desserts, serving coffee, salads, and meals, and assisting in the computer lab. They also worked together to prepare a manicotti dinner for later distribution.

The experience was both meaningful and rewarding, reflecting the Key Club's dedication to service and community support. Special thanks go to Ariel McKain, Olivia Nemeth, Wayne Heisler, Trevor Lingerfield, Evan Bice, Erin O'Rourke, Lauren Zuniga, Amelia Carlucci, Ruth Martinez, Brooke Paciulli, Adriana Soto, Abigail Titus Greve, Charlotte Titus Greve, Scarlett Vavrence, Caitlin Webb, and Mr. Tom Bill for their commitment to making a difference.  Also, thank you to Mrs. Grgurich and Mrs. Devlin, Key Club advisors, for planning the trip.

Moravian Trip

A group of South Hunterdon juniors and seniors took a trip to Moravian University on Tuesday, January 21. Before touring the growing campus, students learned about the historic university's offerings, admissions requirements, and financial aid packages. They even got a chance to say "hi" to both Ingersol brothers before they departed. Keep an eye out for communications from the guidance department with future college tour opportunities.

10th Grade Assembly
