Don't Get Vaped In Assembly

Posted Date: 10/23/24 (10:58 AM)

Today our 7th, 8th and 9th Graders attended an assembly by Hunterdon Prevention Services who engaged the students with developmentally appropriate lessons and activities that help build upon knowledge and decision making skills.

Don't Get Vaped In is a program designed to teach the dangers of vaping, the risk of addiction while also teaching about the power of advertising from tobacco/vape companies. They discussed why teens vape, the role of the internet and social media, as well as peer pressure. They looked at the physical and mental health impacts of vaping. Vaping marijuana is included in this program. We also discuss how to quit and resources that are available.

As part of the Prevention Services team, Prevention Education uses evidence-based educational programs to cultivate health and wellness within individuals, families, and the communities we serve. Each program is designed to provide the participant with information needed to feel confident when making healthy and well informed decisions

Thank you to Mr. Bill and the Counseling Department for coordinating this experience for our students.
