Key Club

Posted Date: 10/21/24 (1:51 PM)

Today the Key Club volunteered with Lambertville Parks and Recreation to hike through the new trails on the hillside above Lambertville and pull Garlic Mustard which is an invasive species.  They worked with Mary Anne Borge who explained to the club members what invasive plant species are and why they are detrimental to the local flora and fauna.  She also explained how important the wooded hillside is to stormwater management which is so important to our community.  The Key Club members also learned a lot about different tree species such as the Mockernut hickory.  They also saw a number of deer as well as a variety of bird species such as the White-breasted nuthatch.
